Vanessa Brown, of the Lindsey Brown Resort wear duo talks us through her packing tips for The Bahamas.
'The Bahamas are so beautiful and relaxing. However it's incredibly hot so silk and cotton pieces are essential. If like me you're busy working before your holiday, then making a list of what to pack and researching what to wear in The Bahamas is an essential part of holiday planning. I usually make a packing list in my phone to ensure everything is washed and steamed before I go away. On average I tend to pack 9-12 pieces from my own Lindsey Brown Resortwear wardrobe, as they are so lightweight and so versatile I do wear them all'.. Vanessa Brown
SHOP THE SILK KAFTAN TOP COLLECTION
For a day at the beach - my go to kaftan is my Monaco kaftan in white and silver. I wear this kaftan style for breakfast in the hotel and feel comfortable to walk to the pool or beach. I leave the hotel room wearing silver leather sandals, only leather will do in hot climates and a pair of rubber sole flips flops for the beach. As the Monaco is pretty and sparkly you don’t need to add too much jewellery but I wear with silver layered bangles to feel more dressed up when I head to lunch.
For evenings – I pack my favourite Lindsey brown top Rumba as I can wear this in so many ways. I wear mine in the evening with white jeans. I always pack 2-3 pairs of white jeans and a skin tone bra to wear underneath the top. This season's Rumba is a pretty Pink Crystal shade so I add metallic tassel heels for dinner or for poolside drinks, I wear with my sparkly Jimmy Choo wedges.
The Rumba top is so versatile I also wear it with white shorts if it’s a really hot evening. All my Rumba tops have been worn on each holiday as they are so long lasting - I have Orange, Oyster and now the Crystal Pink so I can wear one on each night and have a very different look.
My packing list for a two week holiday in The Bahamas
4 bikinis in different colours, my favourites are leopard print as this is very slimming, bandeau slate grey to match my Monaco Kaftan and coral and blue for a splash of colour.
2 x Cotton Kaftan Tops – I have Crete in Pink and Aqua to wear by the pool.
4 x Silk Kaftan Tops - including 3 Rumba Tops as this is my favourite style alongside a classic longer silk kaftan called Palma in Ice Blue.
2 x Daytime Dresses for sightseeing such as Paloma in black. This is an easy dress to wear out to breakfast and shopping as its not see through. I also pack a Cannes Maxi Dress as this can be worn at night to a smart restaurant or for apres beach cocktails.
1 x Blazer – Light and stretchy that covers the arms in case it’s a little chilly, perfect to look stylish at the airport and keep you warm on the plane.
3 x Pairs of lightweight skinny jeans , 2 white and 1 black.
1 x Pair of White Sicily Shorts to wear with my Rumba Tops
2 x Beach Flip Flops
2 x Metallic leather Sandals (always with a leather sole for comfort)
1 x Metallic tassle strappy sandals
1 x Metallic Wedges, these go with everything and anything !
